TEMPE, Arizona – Sun Devil Athletics Senior Associate Sporting Director Michael Meitin has unveiled new features for fans that will be available at Sun Devil Stadium from Thursday for the opening of the football season.
Starting this season, a new digital ticketing system will be used through new digitization pedestals. The stands scan digital tickets faster than traditional scanners, which will help reduce the time it takes for fans to enter the stadium. They will also help prevent fraud between tickets, as they have a barcode that spins constantly, never showing the same numbers twice. Fans will be able to scan the tickets themselves, allowing for a contactless process. Receipt screenshots will not work on newer scanners. Find out how to transfer digital tickets.
The entrance to the southwest gate will feature new metal detectors, which will also help speed up the entry process. The new metal detectors contain more magnets, which will reduce the number of false positives, which will force people to go through the detectors again. This will allow fans to pass without taking items out of their pockets and they won’t have to queue to enter one at a time.
Starting Saturday, September 11, fans will be able to experience more pre-game options thanks to the Sun Devil Oasis which will be located south of Desert Financial Arena. The Sun Devil Oasis will provide games for children, televisions for watching sports, as well as food and drink. Tickets are available at a cost of $ 45 for the general public.
Once fans are in the stadium, there will be some new concessions to check out. Located on the Coca-Cola Sun Deck, there will be a new draft beer station, a Venezia’s pizza oven, and a Fork ‘Em barbecue stand. This will create a food court in the area and give fans more variety in the dealerships.
All improvements to the football match experience are the result of surveys and feedback from fans.
