Modern Pet’s annual Spooky Pet Party isn’t just about cats and dogs in disguise – it’s also a fundraising event for RSQ Utah.
This year’s Spooky Pet Party featured the usual sales and fun Halloween themes and allowed local pet owners to learn about their local pet store and help out local pet adoption centers.
Modern Pet employees dressed up – as did the pet owners and the pets themselves – but the big draw was all of the adoptable pets that RSQ Utah brings to the event. Profits from the Spooky Pet Party go to RSQ Utah, whether it’s buying pet food or visiting the food stand.
“Working as a community to simply uplift and empower the community around us to actually help animals and be a voice for the voiceless and redirect animal health and welfare,” said Zoie Hansen, director of The Modern Pet.
Although RSQ Utah was the focus of this year’s Spooky Pet Party, The Modern Pet also helps other local adoption organizations through food donations and fundraisers.
“We’ve been doing this for a number of years, and it’s totally an added bonus to see the pets in costumes, but it’s really to bring the community together,” said Hansen.
