After growing up on Oahu, brothers Kimo and Kalani Mack decided to create a restaurant that reflected their love for Hawaii’s unique culture, delicious cuisine, and the Pacific Ocean. Now, in anticipation of rapid growth, the popular Hawaiian-style concept has revealed a complete rebrand reminiscent of the Mack brothers’ “hana buttah dayz” (childhood). When customers visit the new Mo’ Bettahs restaurants, they will be instantly transported to the islands with visuals featuring specific colors and patterns that accurately depict the exquisite landscapes of plants, flowers and waters native to Hawaii.

Mo’ Bettahs recently launched its updated design elements and brand – complete with a new logo that alludes to the movements of the ocean and trade winds – in Plano, Texas. The brand has 18 restaurants slated to open nationwide by the end of 2022, all of which will feature Mo’ Bettahs’ latest rebranding additions. This will bring the brand to over 50 units in the western United States with over 20 units planned for 2023.
“Growing up in Hawaii, you could see us driving dad’s VW bus to all of our favorite surf spots, stopping at local restaurants for a plated lunch, and hanging out with ohana (family),” said co-founder Kalani Mack. “I hope those who choose to dine with us are transported to a simpler island lifestyle that is more reminiscent of the Hawaii we know and love, than the ‘more touristy Hawaii’ that is often depicted.
