CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Living in southern Utah, shade really is your best friend, especially during the summer. Awnings help local homeowners beat the scorching heat and enjoy their backyards more.

Don’t settle for the good when your home deserves the best. Platinum Awning, based in St. George, is dedicated to quality products and service. Owner Casey Hales has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry and has installed patio covers all over the southwest corner of the state.

“Spring is the perfect time to set up your awning,” he said. ” Do not wait ; lift it before the heat starts.

The company can install an awning in days, but material shortages and delays mean customers have to wait longer than ever between booking and installation. Materials take a few weeks to a few months to arrive. Hales said he receives up to five calls for awnings each day and encourages homeowners to sign up to his list now to ensure their project is completed before temperatures soar.

Platinum Awning offers a variety of patio cover options, from louvered and traditional vinyl awnings to fixed aluminum and powder coated steel pergolas. Products are available in a range of colors to match the look of the yard and home. Awnings can be freestanding or attached to the house.

The company installs awnings anywhere customers want to shade and cool off, including backyards, barbecue decks and pool decks. Add lighting and a ceiling fan or misting system, and homeowners can enjoy their patio all day and all night.

Hales said the gold standard for patio covers is Solara ShadeSelect, a line of louvered awnings that allow the homeowner to adjust the amount of light and heat that filters through. Using a manual crank or a motorized system, the awning can be easily adjusted depending on the time of day and weather conditions. Having the ability to keep the awning at least partially open reduces heat buildup underneath due to increased airflow without adding direct sunlight.

“Nobody else has that option,” he added. “I’m the only one who can install them here. »

Hales said his company’s ability to customize patio covers for each homeowner is another reason they stand out. Platinum Awning has been recognized by community voters as the The Best of Southern Utah in fencing and awning services in 2021 and 2020.

Solara products are assembled in Phoenix, where the manufacturer has reported 20 degrees lower temperatures under a Solara awning compared to an uncovered patio. When daytime highs hit triple digits, it can be the difference between being able to sit outside or stay home.

Awnings also help homeowners save on their energy bills, Hales said. Without patio cover, the relentless midday sun runs air conditioners for overtime, especially in homes with west-facing backyards.

In addition to patio covers, Platinum Awning offers a modern range of fire and water features to enhance any outdoor living space.

Serving Washington, Iron and Kane counties since 2018, Hales and his team of experts are committed to providing excellent service with an eye for detail. He takes pride in the cleanliness of the site and respect for the property of the owner.

“I work side-by-side with the crews installing every day,” he said. “We make sure things are built well and built to last.”
