Massive Postal Hiring Event Coming Sept. 30 in Tri-Cities
The United States Postal Service is looking for people and hopes to hire hundreds, if not thousands, following an upcoming massive recruitment drive.
September 30, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in West Richland, Pasco, Walla Walla, Yakima, and other parts of our region, potential job seekers are welcome to come forward.
These events will be held at post offices in these cities, with other career fairs taking place in Ellensburg, Ephrata and Moses Lake.
The West Richland location is at 4801 West Van Giesen, the main Pasco location is at 3500 West Court Street, and the Walla Walla location is at 128 North 2nd. Av.
The USPS says opening wages range between $18 and $21 an hour
New hires can expect a pay range of between $18.92 and $21.19 per hour. The USPS calls this Washington State hiring effort Mega Blitz, and according to Alexis Delgado, USPS WA State Director of Human Resources:
“In the case of this Mega Blitz hiring event, we’re looking for 2,000 superstar recruits to help build our roster and lead the Postal Service to victory ohn the field of customer service!
This is part of a new nationwide effort by the USPS, called Deliver for America. It’s been going on for about a year now. In Washington state, dozens of other similar events are taking place on September 29 on the West Side.
Some of the criteria required to apply include, you must be at least 18 years old, have passed a criminal background check, be a US citizen, provide a work history and a safe driving record (if applicable to the position applied for) .
