Maumee hosts 44th Summer Fair – BG Independent News

The Maumee Uptown Business Association will present the Maumee Summer Fair on Friday August 12 and Saturday August 13 at Uptown Maumee.

Turns 44e year, the festival kicks off on Friday at 5pm with the Taste of Maumee. With 11 Maumee restaurants, attendees can enjoy a variety of dishes ranging from pizza, Mexican cuisine, wraps, ice cream, barbecue, wings, burgers, seafood and more.

On Friday night there will also be an entertainment zone with plenty of games and inflatables for the young at heart, while those 21 and over will enjoy the music and festivities inside the party on the grounds. Featured acts are Down River Dan at 5 p.m. and Not Fast Enuff at 8:30 p.m.

New for 2022 will be a free outdoor movie for the whole family on a 32ft Elite cinema screen.

On Saturday, the market opens at 9 a.m. Be sure to take a stroll and check out the over 130 artists, craftsmen, and shopping stalls that line the streets. Vendors will be open at 5 p.m.

Other planned activities are a classic car show hosted by the NW Ohio Street Machiners, Right Direction Bike Show Team performances at 1 and 3, a children’s entertainment area with inflatables, a ride by Romick Railway on Friday evening and all day Saturday. The Performance Dogs of Ohio will perform at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Laurels Princess Parties will feature an encounter with Spiderman and the Snow Queen. Area mascots will be on hand including Freddie and Frieda Falcon from BGSU, Rocky and Rocksy from UT, Lourdes Gray Wolves Gubi as well as Toledo Mud Hens Muddy and Toledo Walleye’s Spike.

On Saturdays, the Taste of Maumee will be open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. to provide you with all the food you could want.

Music begins with the Maumee Community Band at 10:30 a.m.

Acts performing in a variety of styles will be on the Maumee Palooza Stage.

The Summer Fair Lot Party will move to a 21+ crowd inside the gated beer area from 5 p.m. to midnight with Noisy Neighbors at 5:15 p.m. and Reaganonomics at 8:30 p.m.
