SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Chris Paul, Magic Johnson, Gabrielle Union, Ryan Smith and more shared their thoughts and excitement after NBA legend Dwyane Wade became part-owner of Utah Jazz.
Wade joined Smith and the Jazz Ownership Group on Friday April 16.
After the news broke, the three-time NBA champion, his wife and others shared their feelings about the move on social media.
âLegend, leader, businessman. Welcome to the Utah Jazz family, âthe Jazz said on the team’s official Twitter account.
The franchise also shared a photo of Wade standing next to Jazz owner Ryan Smith inside the organization’s practice facility.
Smith thanked Wade for joining the Jazz.

Actress Gabrielle Union, married to Wade, shared her excitement about becoming a homeowner.
Miami Heat owner Micky Arison has expressed disappointment that Wade hasn’t joined his team’s ownership group. Wade has played the majority of his Hall of Fame career with the Heat.
âI want to congratulate Dwyane on his recent announcement,â Arison tweeted. âWe had discussed having him join our property group after his retirement, but he was not ready to commit at the time. Of course, I’m disappointed he didn’t reconsider.
âHaving said that, I wish him good luck and a lot of success with Jazz. For me, Dwyane will always be a life sentence, âArison continued.
Phoenix Suns goalie Chris Paul, who is a friend of Wade’s, congratulated the former NBA big and said Jazz was smart to bring him on board.

Los Angeles Lakers legend and former NBA executive Magic Johnson praised Wade for joining Jazz.
ESPN host Michael Wilbon applauded Wade and the Utah Jazz during a game of “Pardon The Interruption.”
Utahn and PGA Tour golfer Tony Finau told Wade he loves the move.
