Goodyear foodies have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. However, it’s not just sweet and savory places that arrive in the Southwest Valley.
There is also something for gym goers and gun enthusiasts.
Waffletto is one of the newer restaurants in the western suburbs of Phoenix. The restaurant recently opened at 406 N. Litchfield Road, Suite 208, at the Goodyear Village Center near Litchfield Road and Van Buren Street, and will hold a grand opening celebration on August 13th.
The menu includes savory options, like chicken pesto waffles, and sweet options, like peach and caramel or Nutella waffles. The Waffletto’s menu also includes salads.
Here’s a look at the other places that are opening at Goodyear.
F45 Training is a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) studio with 45 minute classes led by two trainers. The classes differ each time, but focus on resistance, cardiovascular and functional training. Coaches are certified personal trainers and can make changes to individuals, according to a company spokesperson.

El Tataki Sushi Fusion Express
The chefs at El Tataki infuse Mexican flavors of Sonora and Sinaloa into traditional Japanese sushi, according to the website. The restaurant, which opened in Glendale in 2014 and moved to Avondale in 2017, will open at Goodyear at Estrella Parkway and Roosevelt Street at Parkway Village. Visit eltatakisushi.com.

The world of shooters
The Phoenix-based Shooter’s World family gun store will open its third location in Arizona at 13740 W. Auto Drive, near Litchfield Road.
The 36,000 square foot facility will be the city’s first indoor shooting range, in addition to offering retail and firearm safety courses. The 5,000-square-foot commercial portion will open in fall 2021, and the 24-lane indoor shooting range will open approximately a year later in fall 2022.
Some of the classes will include: Concealed Weapons Licensing (CCW) classes, defensive mindset and child gun safety, according to a company statement.
Phil and Lisa Roux have owned Shooter’s World since 2002.

Salad and Go
The drive-through salad restaurant is responding to requests from city residents who, in neighborhood Facebook groups, have long sought healthier fast food options in the city. The menu offers a handful of hearty salads between $ 5 and $ 6, with optional protein supplements, as well as lemonades, teas, and cold infusions for $ 1. Salad & Go opens at 6:30 am and also sells breakfast burritos for $ 3.
Coming to Estrella Parkway and Van Buren Street, Salad and Go is expected to begin construction before the end of the year and open in the first half of 2022, according to a company spokesperson. Visit saladandgo.com.
State 48 Road House
Local brewery and restaurant with locations across the valley will open at Litchfield Road and Interstate 10. State 48 offers a range of beers, including ales, IPAs and lagers. The food includes various appetizers, as well as salads, burgers, sandwiches, and a handful of signature entrees. Construction at the Goodyear site is expected to begin by the end of the year with a scheduled opening 16 months after work begins.
Co-owner Vince Rana told The Arizona Republic that Goodyear’s location will be the largest valley location in State 48, with 4 acres. The building could measure up to 40,000 square feet and include outdoor space for beer festivals that can entertain up to 1,000 people. Visit state48brewery.com.
Noodles & Company
The noodle company with dishes like mac and cheese and healthy zoodles will come to Pebble Creek Parkway and McDowell Road at Estrella Falls Market later this year or in early 2022, according to a company spokesperson. The company has more than 450 restaurants in 26 states. Visit noodles.com.
Litchfield Park town center is growing: This is how he will be paid
The family-run Mexican restaurant was established locally in 1986 and now has 10 Valley locations. The Vasquez family first opened a restaurant, called Ponchos, in South Phoenix in 1972. The menu features “Sonoran-style Mexican cuisine,” including burros, tacos, salads and bowls, according to the company website.
Construction on Someburros will begin this month and open in February 2022, according to a spokesperson. It will be at the southwest corner of Estrella Parkway and Van Buren Street, just south of Culver’s. Visit someburros.com.
The Utah-based specialty cookie and soda store spans the West Valley. Goodyear’s location at Pebble Creek Parkway and McDowell Road is in the early stages of planning and won’t come for at least a year, but the Glendale and Peoria locations will open in October. Glendale’s location at Glendale Avenue and 91st Street near State Farm Stadium will be the first location in the state to include drive-through access, a company spokesperson said.
