Grilled Cheese Apple, Bacon, Cheddar

Sticky cheddar, bacon and… apples? Yum! We loved having Cravings Bistro in our studio to show us how to make ABC Grilled Cheese.

The bistro opened in American Fork in January 2012 in a tiny boutique. She always wanted to start a business and everyone expected her to fail, but she was always so determined to make it happen.

The owner of Cravings Bistro is Angie Wilson. A fun fact about her is that she has a twin sister who owns a business just around the corner called Cravings Cupcakes! They love it because their businesses are separately owned, but they are twin sisters with twin stores. Having the same name helps them because people love the novelty of being twins, and they can share a lot of business that way. She has a son named Peyton, and he is all her world. He likes to help at work. and once she caught him handing out free cookies to the whole lobby!

She wanted to specialize in grilled cheese because people always want grilled cheese, but most of the time it’s only available on the kids menu. It made him think of the kind of grilled cheese an adult might wish to eat, and his imagination was wild. She loves to make gourmet grills because the sky is the limit! You can do so many creative things, she feels like every sandwich is a blank canvas and she can make art out of it.

However, they don’t just make grilled cheeses! They specialize in the comfort food you loved as a kid, but they’re stepping up a gear for adults, and each of our dishes is exploding in taste!

– Caramelized red onion mayo (to taste)

-¼ cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

-4 Pieces of Confit Bacon

2. Butter the two pieces of French bread on one side.

3.Put each piece of bread, buttered side down, on the pan.

4. Divide the cheese and the bacon confit between the two slices.

5. Cook open over low heat and cover with a pan lid over the bread to circulate the heat.
